About the Story…

Bowe decided to write and illustrate Where Are You, Mommy? for her newborn daughter, Aella, for a few reasons.

Firstly, books are a huge part of Bowe’s life and of her children’s life - so, starting them early is very important to her. However, most of the newborn books available didn’t quite hold Aella’s attention. Bowe wanted to create something that really captivated Aella!

Secondly, Aella’s cries always seemed to be asking “Where are you, Mommy?” - at least to Bowe, anyway. Even if Bowe had just stepped away for a moment! Bowe found herself constantly reassuring Aella that she was, in fact, “right here, sweet baby.”

This adorable little book brings together both mother and baby through a connecting story and engaging images.

Bowe hopes you and your baby enjoy Where Are You, Mommy? just as much as she and Aella do!
